I actually bought a slightly different version of these directly from the manufacturer because Amazon didn't have prime shipping at the time but I first found them here so I wanted to leave the review to be fair. When starting the process of remodeling our home, specifically the 2nd floor, I went into it with the general overall concept of investing in things that added the most amount of value for whenever we end up selling it. I also wanted the remodel to take our home to the next "level" in value if possible. It's hard to explain, but there's just a different "feel" when you walk into a million dollar plus home (which is expensive relative to the area we live) vs. a regular priced home (200k - 300k). It's not just the square footage or the extra rooms, it's something more intangible... and I wanted that "feel" for our home, which is valued much closer to the regular priced homes than the million dollar homes.A realtor friend of mine later ended up explaining why I was right in my belief... Apparently the "feel" in that type of place comes from the use of better quality building materials that wouldn't traditionally be thought of as areas of focus. So for example, that type of place would use taller and/or more ornate baseboards or crown molding. Another great example of this, and the whole reason for this diatribe, are these door handles. At first I just bought enough for one room, which was 2 door handles with locks and 2 dummy handles for the closet. I can tell you with certainty though that I will be buying enough to finish off the rest of the second floor and probably the whole house. As soon as I took them out of the box I could tell they were exactly what I wanted. The pictures don't do the level of craftsmanship the justice it deserves but trust me when I say that they have the exact "feel" I was looking for. The lines of the cast iron were very clean but also had enough small variations that shouted "hand made". They were very heavy and when you twisted the handle it had that super solid feel of "this thing is going to last forever". If I had to be ultra picky, I would probably want the locking mechanism to stick out a fraction shorter but that's purely for aesthetic reasons. The functionality was great. The truth of the matter is that these things are not cheap. I can see how spending $90+ on a single door handle could seem like a deal-breaker to some. My initial reaction was similar, especially since it had 0 reviews on Amazon and very few reviews on their site. But after I thought about it for a bit I took the chance and I'm super stoked that I did. They absolutely gave the room that "next level" feel and I'm looping forward to investing in putting them in the rest of the house. If you're looking for something similar I would HIGHLY recommend you buy these. You won't be disappointed.
