They are made in China, not America anymore but that is probably why they are affordable. They are well constructed and the iron is of good quality. I do wish that this iron was a little longer so you don't have to be so close to the fire because I'm always hot. My wife loves being that close so I guess it is personal choice.The key to any iron cooking product is SEASONING. Google it and take care of these irons and season them and they will last a lifetime!I have made some of the best grilled cheese sandwiches I have ever EVER had in this iron. The kids just love it. So much fun!
