The fabric is so luscious and comfortable. Color is rich and true to the illustration. I live in an old farmhouse in upstate NY. This is just what I wanted!These look a lot thinner and lighter in pictures. It is a waffle weave on one side, and so it is 2x thick and a second later of terry on the inside. It is the kind of robe you want to get into when you are sopping wet and chilly. The thickness approaches cumbersome as it kind of limits movement. They could definitely make it thinner, and that would help the fit too I am sure. I am 5'9 " and weigh 200 pounds.; I ordered the XL to make sure it went all the way around my waist. They are quite long in length which is pleasing for me, but then again I am considered on the tall side. I can say if your girth is much bigger than mine, it might not go around the waist properly, as only 3 inches were the overlap when I pulled the sides around to belt up. In addition, the cut is a basic boxy shape that combined with the great thickness left me with too much arm pit fabric, probably because it is more suited for a man body not a lady body. So, too much arm pit / chest, not enough waist, quite long and almost impossibly thick to the point of being hard to wash.Made out of very absorbent material like a towel. Very thick and well made. Soft but not the softest, but that keeps it from feeling nasty against your skin when it’s wet. Very long.This robe is very heavy and bulky. My guest did not want to wear it. I haven't washed it but I read it shrinks a lot. If you want a beautiful spa-like robe, this is NOT itThis does a good job. I had a really thick one forever and was trying to find one to replace it. It’s not as think as my old one from ten years ago I think from JCPenney but it does a good job. No smell and only shrunk half inch. Very comfy and soft. The aqua is a pretty blue color. I would def buy this again and I am picky. Did not unravel in the wash. Seems good fabric and should last a while.Absolutely gorgeous!! Warm, yet comfortable..found in warehouse..it was a steal!!I am very pleased at how substantial this robe is. It's not thin terry cloth. It is very thick material and feels like it will last a long time.Took a chance and I'm so glad I did. This is a nice quality robe. Tip: Remove the belt BEFORE washing because it bunched up and twisted. I love it and am very happy with my purchase. I am keeping it for myself but it's gift worthy.While the fit is generous, it does shrink a lot. Before washing there was a good 6-7 inch overlap in the front, after washing it might have 2 inches. The tie will definitely not keep the robe closed any more. That being said I can sew and will simply add a zipper or snaps to the front. I wish the size had remained the same, but I was warned through other reviews and knowing the product was cotton, the shrinkage was inevitable.Why do companies not preshrink their fabric? Its the very first lesson you get when you learn to sew. PRESHRINK!While I am disappointed with the shrinkage, I do still like the robe very much. I would describe it as being medium weight fabric, feels nice to wrap up in after a shower. Very comfortable.The quality is reasonable. I am 5' 9" & 175 pounds and I ordered a large. When it came it was too large which is fine. Then I washed it and dried it on high. The length is still OK, it still goes around, just, and the sleeves are now kimono length. I expected all of this and it will be OK.The fact is, terry cloth has to be dried on high as it is in every hotel in the world, and if it isn't, it will never dry so one can't say dry on warm - this stuff isn't lingerie or spandex. It's about time that the manufacturers started preshrinking their fabric!The final insult is that the product is listed for $39US on the company website which is about $72Cdn after duty and sales taxes; whipped again!Pretty good quality, material is thicker and heavier than I was expecting which is very good, also true to size. The only reason why I give it a 3 stars instead of a 5 is the weird chemical smell. I washed it 3 times, hung it outside and it’s still smell chemical for some reasons which really bother me (I’m usually not picky about these kind of details but the smell is strong and hopefully I’ll get rid of it eventually). Beside the smell I’m 100% happy with it overall!This is a beautiful, luxurious robe that appears to be made of high-quality cotton - love the feel of it.But... it was packaged in a toxic-smelling plastic bag. The chemicals still cling to the material even after 2 washes and airing out. Why package a beautiful robe in plastic that is clearly not recycled or recycleable - especially plastic that is continually off-gassing???It is also too long. At 5'3" I have to lift the front when climbing stairs to avoid tripping.Bought matching robes as a gift. Ordered at the same time, but for some reason they were shipped separately and only one arrived. Amazon refunded me for the one that was lost. The robe that did arrive was soft and cozy, my daughter loves it.
