This is yet another amazing score from the unique voice in film music, Mr. Thomas Newman. He's always had his own sound and original style since at least(!) his great scores written for Scent of a Woman, The Shawshank Redemption and Little Women. He has composed countless exciting, original music both in orchestrating and in melody. His style is remarkable,as is his approach to each and every film he writes the musical score for. Yet Thomas Newman hasn't received an Oscar for his extraordinary accomplishment to modern film music. But despite it being an unbelievable unfairness, neither he nor we seem to care. Why? Because he is simply Thomas Newman with or without any - well deserved, by the way - awards. His father, the great late Alfred Newman, himself a 9 time Oscar winner, would be tremendously proud of his son, who has achieved quite a lot of accomplishment himself. The score for The Iron Lady is Thomas Newman at his best - but then again, when is he not at his best? It's moving, it's exciting, it has the chilling power that represents Newman's versatility and as I call it, happiness, which equals the best classical composers such as Mozart or Vivaldi. Thomas Newman yet again shows us that he is at the very top of his game. This score is full of joy, wonder and amazing fantasy. It is the work of art of a true master of music. Bravo, Maestro Newman!
