Does a wonderful job . Everything tastes wonderfulI like Le Creuse so much I am considering replacing my whole calphalon collectionI have used the oval dutch oven a few times now and I love it. Although I didn't have very good luck making my special spaghetti sauce (didn't stir it constantly and burnt it slightly), the other dishes came out great. An added bonus is you get a workout lifting it from stove to countertop to sink. The disadvantage is the kids can't lift it to clean ha.We already have a Le Creuset round dutch oven but, we wanted an oval oven for cooking London Broil, Brisket, and whole chicken recipes for example. We are not disappointed! This oven lives up to the Le Creuset name and is well worth the money. If you want an oval dutch oven, look no further, this is the right choice.Expensive but excellent quality.I've been wanting one of these for the last three years and I finally got one for Christmas. I absolutely love cooking with this. Making soups, curry and even frying up bacon has been so simple. What I love most about it was the easy cleanup. It may weigh a lot, but the superior quality is worth it.Also, just a note before you purchase this directly from Amazon, you can get Le Creuset and similar products at places like Marshall, Home Goods, and TJ Maxx for 50% of the price listed here. I kept this one just because it would be a hassle to return it. The reason why I say that is because of the hassle it was to deliver the product. You would think I ordered an actual oven the way they took great care to deliver it to my brother's home. A delivery service delivers the products, not UPS or USPS.I will say that as much hassle that went into delivering it...it did make for an excellent gift for a cook/foodie.Used only once, washed twice. Hand washed when I received it and after first use. The brand name on the side Shrunk and fell off. Not sure on if it’s a real name brand pan or a generic since name did this. Too much money for having issuesThis is a perfect gift for Mom.
