I had a stained glass project that required a heavy duty iron. The one that I had been using for some time was rated at 250w, the same as this Hexacon, but my old iron would not get hot enough. Although the Hexacon was somewhat expensive, it proved to be well worth the cost, enabling me to finish the project surprisingly quickly. The Hexacon is very well built, heats up quickly and holds its heat while I am working with it. I only wish that I had bought the Hexacon sooner! I highly recommend it for projects that need a heavy duty iron.
